This book talks about the 5 habits that every individual should encompass to life a good life. This book begins with talking about discipline- a discipline to wake up early and went to bed earl, taking crucial decisions at the morning. “A disciplined mind brings happiness” – Buddha. The author has provided us with scientific research to prove that what he just expressed about his experience with this discipline is also have some empirical base.
2nd Habit talks about the gratuitous work which should be done by everyone. These works keep us happy and this happiness is what we seek all in our entire life. We spend money in pubs and go to watch movies just for the happiness but we can also acquire this happiness just by doing gratuitous work. So, a little tip for people- don’t donate money in temples and in charity if you this it as a sacrifice, instead donate it gratuitously and believe me it will give you immense happiness.
“Give even you have a little”- Budhha
3rd Habit talks about being dromomaniac- one who loves journey. My personal favourite habit. In this habit the author talks having a solo trip with very few resources and less money. He also shared about his experience where he went for a solo trip at the phase of his life when he had lost everything in life and his business was collapsed completely and after returning from the trip he stared again and this time he performed outstanding rejuvenate the sag company into a multi-million company. Thus, if you ever feel drowning in life just go for a solo trip, at least for some days, out of all problems and with the nature and you notice that the problem which earlier troubling you would not bother you much now.
4th Habit talks about living a 100 lives by reading books. “There is no friend as loyal as a book”- Ernest Hemingway. If you are a person who is not fond of reading books you might be missing out. Reading books helps your brain a different kind work out than watching TV listening to the radio and opens you an entire new world of thinking.
5th and the last Habit is about staying curious- asking why for everything which society tells us to do. If you are following the herd blindly like a sheep then there is no difference between you and that being. Your ration mind is what which made you different creature in this whole world and thus from this rationality ask why, why for everything which don’t sounds you efficiently and break the dogma of society to follow things just because it has been followed since generations. Things change with time and if that thing bother you in contemporary period then say NO to it.
