Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” movie was a brilliant cinematic experience, depicting a part of Elvis’ life I was totally unaware of… Austin Butler, who played Elvis, was brilliant in the role; not only due to his acting and singing ability, but also due to his physical splendour and athleticism! Tom Hanks who played Colonel Parker, Elvis’ manager, was almost unrecognisable due to an amazing makeup job and padding, but equally brilliant. I loved everything about the movie from beginning to end, in fact, I would watch it all over again.

This bio documentary about John Farnham’s career was an overwhelming and emotional viewing experience; highlighting many unknown aspects of undoubtedly one of the unsung ‘greats’ in the industry. When I was eleven years old, I was the very proud owner of my first EP; “Sadie” on one side and “One is the Loneliest Number” on the flip side. Fifty six years later, I still had no idea of the struggles and hardship endured by Farnham, until the success of his “Whispering Jack” album. This film should be viewed by all Australians who love rock music, as well as those who can be inspired by the loyalty of great mates for each other and a man who never gave up on his vision…
