I really like the movie. A different style of telling story.
Acting -
Rukmini Vasant has nailed it. Her expressions are enough to convey the situation. To carry such a role throughout the movie would have been difficult for her. she has done it really good
Rakshit Shetty has given the perfect need of the role. no exaggeration, no heroism, no over acting. How a free thinking middle class young guy could handle things in life without overthinking, is just shown perfectly by him
Mom's role by Pavithra Lokesh is very well written and drawn. A responsibility of mom and freedom given by her to her daughter, both are well situated.
And the way Avinash's character is portrayed omis completely different and unimaginable. Every now n then I was thinking that he will flip around with negative shade. but that did not happen.
on the other hand Achyut's role how it turns out from initial stage to the later one is silent yet good.
I should mention about the jail inmate fabulous performance with cunning negative shade. His dialogue delivery style added another level during those scenes.
The suffering of Manu was portrayed very well without any exaggeration but with clear intention.
Last but not the least BGM, you cannot imagine that for some scenes the type of music given was such that I was thinking how can someone think of music for a scene like this. and it perfectly suited the scene. It was elevating the director's magic.
And then the director, the level of patience he has to deliver such a content at these times in kannada industry is to be appreciated. Never compromise on quality of scenes with time. some log cuts were there where it show the depth of scene and you would not realise that the scene was so long because of BGM.
So I would say that the director's clear intentions and effort of cast and technicians has paid well off.
waiting for the Side B!!!
I rated 4/5 for only one reason, that is the way the negative character in jail was taken down so easily. Let's see if that character has anything to give more in Side B!
