After watching this bizarre, horrendous, acid-trip of a movie, I may not be able to sleep soundly at night anymore.

Let's start by talking about the terrible CGI effects. For one, every "cat" body is COMPLETELY unproportional to the supposed real-world objects shown in the movie. One minute, they are as tall as a bed and the next minute, they are walking along a train track being no bigger than an insect. It's weird to watch. Also, it was strange to see some human body parts incorporated into the cat body. Human hands and feet are constantly shown throughout the movie and it really throws you off.

Next, let's address the ENTIRE PLOT! I really have no words to explain this, other than the whole plot was a plot hole itself. There was no given backstory, the """"main character"""" spoke like 3 sentences, and the ENTIRE THING was 99.9% straight. music. Like ok, I get that this is a musical, but THERE WAS 5 LINES OF DIALOGUE IN THE WHOLE THING!!!! And all the music sounded the same! It wasn't anything to remember and was boring after 15 minutes. Not to mention the 10-minute silent and awkward dance sequences either.

Finally, the weirdly abrupt ending. The entire two-hour movie had basically been a scramble of cats performing and wack dancing right up until 10 minutes till the end. Right when a cat was about to be chosen to enter "their 9th life", a secondary character that was shown maybe four times earlier walks in, sings a dramatic rendition of 'Memories', and wins the whole thing. Like, come on! After the movie was centered around these other cats, it seemed kind of pointless to even make this movie considering the end. They could have saved so much time and energy (and money [!!!] ) by centering the movie around this secondary character. It was just a disappointing end.

All in all, it was a movie made to capture the magic and mystery of the lives of cats, but it just fell flat on its feet. It struggled to take off from the beginning and there was no real character development throughout the movie. I would save your money and go to Star Wars. Probably the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.
