Excellent romance that will make you truly feel their emotions within every episode! Their chemistry is palpable right from the start, and the story completely pulls you into their situation. The character of Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok shows such stoic restraint, that it's absolutely heart-melting when you see how much he's caring for her. The dialogue between the characters is sometimes frustrating, as they refuse to admit how they feel towards one another - but when they finally do, it has such a powerful impact to the viewer - very emotional scenes! I think one of the things that makes this show even more emotionally powerful is that the story is told visually - not just the dialogue. There are many moments of their lingering gaze at one another, you can feel the emotion in their eyes & face, and the way their hands touch. Obviously, it's a little unrealistic how he swoops in as the hero to save his damsel-in-distress so often - but in the context of this show, it is absolutely swoon-worthy, and makes it all the more riveting to watch. I loved all of their performances, not only the romance between Yoon Se-ri and Captain Ri, but also all of the friends she makes throughout this adventure. I just loved all of the patrol officers (I refer to them as "Se-ri's boys"), and all the women of the village. One of the aspects that I loved about this show is that it did such a wonderful job of humanizing everyone in both North & South Korea. Both countries have wonderful people & bad people. Natural human behaviors are present everywhere, no matter where you live. Overall, great story, great characters, and a great emotional rollercoaster of a show!!
