This was a major disappointment. The heroines felt invincible, it was so easily predictable on what would happen, who would die, etc. For being based off a game that was known for so many choices and possibilities creating a very realistic and gray world. This show felt unrealistic and completely off base with the games besides name dropping and relying on fan service through cameos when dropping backstories.
The Main Character was horrifically unrelatable, another classic Mary Sue or Gary Stu like of character. That overcomes everything and anything. Always has a plan, and always pulls it off. It might seem she is about to lose, but you can easily predict her victory.
Honestly the "villians" felt more relatable, and I was hoping they would come out on top more often.
The Dwarf and Human are alright. The Quanari seems like the exact opposite of any Quanari we know of or have seen before. And what happens to Fairbanks without consequences to the mage lady, after everything the mage lady does to betray the entire group, and inquisition is outright dumb. No one would be forgiven so easily for something that really should not be forgivable.
Felt like I was watching show The 100 all over again, with Clark who can get all her people killed continually, but by plot armor and poor writing always be forgiven, or never allowed to be wrong.
Best thing about it. Tevinter, Dragon, Knight-Commander, Magister, Dead-Neb, and the gorgeous animation. Story, development, realism, depth, forced scenes, horrific.
