Wonderful, amazing and awesome piece written by Suzanne Collins continuing on the legacy of the Hunger Games trilogy! This journey takes us through the history of Panem and the war between district and Capitol. Following the story of the evolving teenage Coriolanus Snow as he crosses the limits for attainment of his goals. The long and tedious name adds to and gives weightage to his superior lineage and personality. The background to the songs in the original trilogy are revealed which now have greater meaning to them. I particularly loved the song “the hanging tree” which sends chills through your bones. (You have to listen to Katniss / Jennifer Lawrence’s song first!). You get to visit district 12 and see the distinct landmarks. Although the book got a little slow paced in the middle part but it really picked up its pace in the third “Peacekeeper” section. Great character development so characteristic of Suzanne Collins writings, leads you to get attached to everyone. Like it or not Snow lands on top!
