Just rewatched series one Found it thoroughly absorbing with great performances all round, particularly Dougray Scott and Jon Sims. Sone comedy to lift the dark nature of the case. Slightly different angles to most other police crime series which arguably are far more cliched and one dimensional. If you concentrate on the quality of the drama rather than whether the characterisation of the gender of the players offends you, then youll probably thoroughly enjoy it.

Ive lived for over 7 years in Paris previously and this show made me laugh. Yes you can rail about the stereotyping but actually much of it is a reasonably accurate representation of how many French react to other nationalities. I.e. with vague interest and sometimes disdain but a self assurance that the French way is always the best. Not that much different to other nationalities in their home environment in fact. Doesnt stop me loving the country and people. Funny and easy watching
