There are some movies that have been made that will never be topped and I'm proud to say 1987s predator is one of them. The set up is simple Arnold and his team go into the jungle kill the bad guys save the day and head home for more cigars and bicept curls. But there is only one problem and that is a seven foot alien with cloaking ability hot on their heels to collect some trophies or as we would call them skulls. One by one the predator takes out Arnold's team leaving only him stripped from his guns out of his element and forced into a deady cat and mouse show down. This is a must see movie for young and old

There are usually two types of horror movies. One type scares you through your eyes and the other through your mind and the movie us delivered on both. What I took away from the movie was the ying and yang the light and dark side of us message suggested in the storyline. There is something very scary about the evil side of a person coming after them and taking them over. This movie plays on that notion perfectly. I also love this film because you can watch it again and it becomes completely different which when you think about it ties in well with the narative of the story same but different.

Terminator 2 will never be beaten it is hands down the best action movie of all time. Arnold plays the role perfectly as the bad arse protector. I love the character arc he goes through from starting off as the unblinking tin man to at the end almost a father figure to John conner. I wish they still made movies to this standard.

I don't know what it is about phantasm that I love so much. The tall man makes the perfect villan. Like all good horror movies the more a movie makes you think for yourself the more Scarry a movie can become.

Watched the faculty back when they did movie marathons and loved it. It had robert t1000 patrick in as the evil coach great special effects for its time and pretty much every young and upcoming actor in the 90s. It was very different to all the other slasher movies that were being made because of the scifi alien element. I love any movie that can mix genres predator was a good example of that. In the faculty you go in thinking it's going to be another scream clone but it quickly switches gears and becomes more like a cross between aliens and can't hardly wait. God I'm feeling old!
