I was very disappointed in this film. First, it was entirely too dark. It was as if God had allowed Satan full reign over this alternate universe- not just for the main character who was like Job, but also for the rest of the poor souls stuck in this alternate reality. The plot was also clunky and did not make sense to me. I understand that we live in a dark world and we weren’t promised that we wouldn’t have to go through very difficult things as believers, but I felt this movie took that concept to such an extreme that it minimized the fact that God’s authority/ power and the name of Jesus (which I don’t think I heard in the movie) trumps Satan every time. I appreciate the symbol of resurrection and even purchased the necklace, but didn’t feel like this resurrection power was represented well in this movie.
