Very disappointing, all star cast, all star director but it just missed the mark every step of the way. Dialog is cheesy, plot is predictable, combat scenery very poorly done. Ex mitary advisor would have went a loooong way.
Predictable, cliche dialog, lucky coincidence after lucky coincidence. Magazines for guns that never run out of bullets, flashbacks where the actors wear no make up or even dye their hair, it flashes back 50 years and they still have grey hair and the same exact physique?
8 guys crash in a helicopter in the middle of what looked like 100 enemies. Not only does everyone go unscathed in a helicopter crash, which in itself is not believable, then out of nowhere all 100 enemies decide to run from 5 american soldiers never to return with more troops, flank, etc. They just decide to leave?
Plane crash was days ago, some how everything in the plane was either looted or flew out of the plane while crashing, except the crate full of gold which is still sitting upright, undamaged, dead in the center of the cargo area with nothing else near it. I guess the Vietnamese just happened to not see the giant box of gold when they searched the plane?
5, 60 something year old guys then hike out of the middle of the jungle with 1000s of pounds of gold in backpacks? The one guy can barely walk before they were carrying gold and decides to throw all his pain meds on the ground to prove a point 7 minutes into their journey?
There are an infinite number of better war movies and infinite better spike lee movies to be watched.
