A chance to see Annette Benning in anything is a rare treat, and of course the legendary Vanessa Redgrave was a big draw. The film was well sequenced with flashbacks and fast forwards, which somehow felt very natural in unravelling the mystery. Good directorial debut for Christopher Waltz. The long lasting shots on Ms. Redgrave were not always necessary, but pleasing nonetheless. The only complaint l would have is just too many shots of Waltz when he is in custody and looking the worse for wear. Fine acting to be sure, just a bit heavy-handed. Loved AB telling the cops not to touch her. She's a jewel. All in all, l will tell my friends, it's a good movie based on a true story.
