The setting is interesting and creative. The world building is out of this world. The combat is challenging but fair throughout. Light RPG elements which add a nice level of character customization without being overwhelming for when you want to stay in the action. Stealth is viable without being necessary. This game is a thoughtful and unique coming of age story in a post-apolocalyptic setting. Aloy quickly became my favorite female video game protagonist of all time. I was highly invested in the story and played the whole game in a couple of weeks. I did not want to put this one down. Playing on ps5.

Shooting is serviceable, but AI is a little too dumb. The writing is similar to any aggressively average sci-fi novel. Ship combat is the most fun aspect, but I did not enjoy the customization. The inside is randomized, so it can be very wonky with ladder placement and levels. You also cannot fly to between planets like no man's sky. I did not like any of the companions at all and traveled with the robot in new game plus. Little to no replay value as the choices make little difference to the overall narrative. Dungeons were highly repetitive. Wait for a sale to jump in or get game pass.
