Can't believe how many people rate books on their own personal experiences. So amazingly selfish and obtuse. Yes, the book is sad, but so are many others. I wouldn't tell you to avoid it for that reason. The story is well written and the characters are very real. I've loved this book since middle school. And I will continue to love it. Read it and judge for yourself. That's my contribution.
