This movie does not deserve the high ratings it is receiving-- it is not creative, it is beyond boring, it offers the watcher nothing.
The characters are terribly one dimensional. You just don't care about them at all, rather they are annoying. Side characters offer nothing to the plot and have barely any lines. Everyone speaks in this unbareable flat monotone voice.
The plot points that should matter barely affect the plot at all. No cares about the newspaper, the friends' relationships, the families' life. It is all so incredibly boring.
Grace, the main character, is defined by her dead boyfriend. That is her whole character. Also where does her cane go?
Henry is so creepy and flat.. he is half dedicated to stalking her, half dedicated to writing, and half dedicated to being a pain in everyone's ass. He is barely interested in saving Grace and sends her home without pants when he should have called 911 or at least her guardians?? I just don't know y'all, this aint it .. Why doesn't Henry grow up and support her a little? He has absolutely no character growth... come to think of it, no one in the movie had any character development or growth.
The best part of this movie is I was reminded of the book Ordinary People. I highly recommend reading that book over watching this movie.
