I was expecting some insight into ordinary people who voted for brexit and why. But as a ‘remainer’ myself, it felt like a novel that was preaching to the choir. I felt the right wing characters were very 2 dimensional and quite predictable, compared to the left wing ones who felt rich and complicated. It would have been nice to get a real sense of why people voted to leave the EU. Instead I felt the characters were just giving us sound bites of their views but never delving any deeper than that.
