Made a kid out of me again... I grew up playing MK and to see this in a movie is like a kids dream come true. Animation is very good. A little fast paced, but doesn't hinder anything. Story was very good. Fight scenes, left a little more to be desired. Too many cuts (no pun intended), made me lose sense of the choreography. Don't mistake me, they were awesome, but felt was not very cohesive. The Black Dragon fight scene was great, others not up to that. Characters were not very well fleshed out, we know LK was a boy scout, Sonya was badass, JC was comic reliefand Scorpion was an antihero. Other than Scorpion, none of the others were given anything. Maybe Sonya with a 2 min intro. Hoping they will do that in the following movies. The universe backstory again was not fully explained. Who are the elder gods, who is Raiden, what's the tournament. All in all the movie is for fans of the franchise, ONLY and that is making it not fun for others. All said, I am a fan and I can't wait to get more.
