I'm really disappointed in this show. It started well; I was engaged and enjoying the scenery, characters, and storyline. But the story veered off track in the last few episodes (especially the last one), apparently to create a cliffhanger for a second season. Rose, the main character, behaved so inconsistently that I didn't recognize her by the end. Her moral compass broke, and so did the show. And don't get me started on the unrecognizable Southern accent of one actress, although her singing voice was wonderful. Cast an American actress next time like you cast an American actor as a male lead! And the actress who played Rose needs to cut out the bug-eyed, shocked look she used a lot. That bit was bad acting.
In short, I'm sorry I watched this because the part I enjoyed most (Rose as a strong, moral person who always tried to do the right thing and was loyal to her family) was subverted at the end to create a cliffhanger. I wouldn't watch a second series.
