this movie was absolutely amazing. i was a little nervous going into it because i wasn't the biggest fan of the first one, but i love sonic and the trailer looked appealing so i thought i'd see it anyway. i was not at all disappointed. the only issue i have with these films is the mix of real life and animation. in general i don't tend to enjoy those kinds of movies as they aren't for me, but i'm sure there's people out there who love them. this film introduces tails and knuckles into the world and they were both a joy to see. the almost brotherly friendship between sonic and tails is something i've always loved, and it was definitely prevalent in the movie. knuckles was also really great to see, he was so funny and he also had good development. eggman as always was incredibly unhinged and while some may find it cheesy and ridiculous, it was pretty funny and added a lot of lightheartedness to the film. there were also some important messages about acknowledging that you can't always handle everything on your own, and that it's always okay to ask for help. i liked how donut lord and his wife (i can't for the life of me remember their names) kind of took on a role as parents to sonic. it added a lot of wholesomeness to the movie and to the relationship between the characters. also the post credit scene made me audibly gasp, so make sure you stick around after the credits to see it. overall, i highly recommend this movie.
