When I observed the first few minutes of this documentary during the early morning on Tuesday, December 31, I wanted to turn off the television and cry. All of us, irrespective of your backgrounds, had similar experience when we arrived; therefore, I decided to watch to the end.
I did not get the attention I needed when I arrived in November 1970. Today I give God thanks that Canada has implicated methods to assist new immigrants. I am really impressed with this family who demonstrated that success or hardship cannot separate them from their country and loved ones, and I am deeply impressed by their positive attitude they have displayed when attending to their future goals.
Please tell that Grade 11 student to take her teachers’ advice and do copy her fellow classmates’ bad habits. Tell her I know that she will excel and I am praying for her. Tell her I understand her tears, passion and faith.
These new arrivals are caring, considerate, empathetic and understanding children. They have made remarkable observations of what Canada is: a land of both hardships and opportunities; nevertheless, they have a positive attitude where their successes are concerned. Good for them!
Since I woke up this morning, I have been sharing their stories, but, I did not know the ages of the two older siblings, parents. I decided to consult Google and I so pleased I am asked to give my comment.
Good luck to the children. They will succeed. They are aware of their expectations in Canada and God will bless them abundantly. They miss and love those they left behind, but God will empower them. I hope they will return to visit early. Because of the love Canadians showed to me, in two and a years, I returned to visit mine.
Thank you for this opportunity to express my thoughts for this family.
Sincerely,
Yvonne
