Of course a very well deserved 5 stars.
I was in Bangalore the night the event happened in Mumbai. The movie made me re-live those moments. It was one of the most senseless acts of terror carried out with meticulous planning till the end.
The movie has been directed with finesse, giving attention to the minutest details. It is a must watch not just for understanding the tragedy of terrorism, but also to see the real life heroism and selflessness depicted by ordinary folks with a non police and military background... just mere chefs and bartenders, who could have ran away to save their own lives through the Safe Chamber, but instead chose to give it a shot to save their guests. A beacon of light, a small glimmer of hope is that which keeps mankind through the darkest hours. This movie is about humanity and future. It is very sad, overwhelming. However, it is also about clarity and helps a person question the value systems of this world.
It shows the true face of terrorism. And it should never be let away lightly. Division in the name of religion is archaic and primitive and simply belongs to the medieval ages. Humanity has progressed. Organized Religion needs to adapt, or should be competely abondoned. It is easier said than done, as fear in humans run deep. Only increased awareness can bring an end to these fears. Hotel Mumbai is a very good therapeutic measure to increase ones awareness of the nuisance of terrorism, especially in this age of disinformation.
