I like Ricki and respect what he has achieved. That said, Armageddon feels like a response to the feedback he is getting on social media. He is still mansplaning why it's okay to tell the jokes he's telling (target of the joke). It's got a "current affair" vibe, like, responding to the things "they" say. The problem with that is, no one is saying those things, really. It's just "click bait" media. He needed to make a departure here from the critiques of social media, woke culture, maistream's new found sensitivities and unessessary dark humour into new ground. I'm looking forward to what comes next.
