This answers the question I have always had: We had Abbey Road with us in the US in Sept.1969, and it wasn't until May 1970 that we saw the Let It Be movie, heard the album, and tried to cope with the NEWS that The Beatles were over.
"It can't be true". It was devastating, that it ended that way.
Only now is there confirmation I wasn't crazy as I remembered it, but in the days of pre-internet the narrative could be so closely crafted. Abbey Road, one of their all-time best records was produced last by the one of the best all-time bands in history. We would be selfish to consider it satisfying. So glad this movie brings clarity to their legacy.
