This show was and still is ahead of it's time. There is yet to be another female lead like Xena, especially one with a relationship like the one she has with Gabrielle. It's meta, it's action, it's drama, it's slapstick comedy, it's wild, it's incredibly fun....it's Xena. She did it first, and if you watch the show, you'll see how.
