How did this movie get made? Dennis Quaid is of course absolutely adorable and made Pres. Reagan seem very wholesome and charming and a good leader. It was the film itself that was so silly. Like a junior high social studies project. I went for the clothes and cars, which were just ok. A two-term U.S. president deserves a much, MUCH better biopic. So much potential wasted. A dramatic true story rendered utterly flat. The whole Job Voight thing was bizarre. The children are on screen for less than one minute. The vice president never appears. Nancy is very sweet and not at all ragey. The ranch is spectacular. Bottom line: do not waste your time unless like me you would happily watch Dennis Quaid do his taxes.
