The coverage of the Men’s 800 Freestyle on Tuesday afternoon was unbelievably horrible. In the middle of this LIVE FINAL (in which a contending American swam) NBC chose to run a triple ad in a huge window beside continuing coverage of the swimming in a much smaller space . So no commentary , almost invisible swimmers . We got the full screen back to the event with barely 200 meters to go. The American (Bobby Finke) made a run to win and almost succeeded in winning gold … got silver. Wish we could have seen the entire race. Bah humbug
