This film was just bad. The worst in the series. They basically did what the new child’s play did. Took an iconic franchise and tried to remix it and the result leaves a bitter taste. This is about as bad as DC trying to turn Superman black. These progressives don’t understand you can’t remix the parts of a story or character that make them recognizable and iconic. In this case,You can’t have wrong turn without the cannibals or else it isn’t wrong turn anymore. This is now a new franchise with the wrong turn label slapped on. The Premise isn’t bad with the new antagonists dubbed “The Foundation” but it definitely should have stood on its own. Acting was solid for the most part but the scenarios just weren’t believable. These writers keep making the mistake of writing characters who don’t act like real people. They act like characters in a script. If me and 4 of my friends are walking in a forest, there’s no way a man can sneak up and snatch one of us without the group knowing. You’re in a forest in broad day with tiny trees spread out.. The person will hear leaves cracking behind them and on the off chance they don’t, when someone is snatched, they’re gonna put up a fight and I can guarantee I would turn around if I heard my friends feet frantically shuffling and reaching behind him to smack his assailant. Small details like that ruin a film. Not to mention these forest people supposedly want to be left alone to their forest but are steady hangin out in town and at the end of the film had no problem jumping in an RV and coming to the big city. Makes no sense. Also I promise you, these will be the most clean mountain people you ever seen. I couldn’t believe the way the main villains hair was flipped and clean cut. Mf look like he climbed straight out of GQ and put a fur coat on. Unbelievable. This feels like a a bunch of college kids or new writers who were given an already downhill franchise to play with and even with their fresh minds they couldn’t help but to push an agenda of “my character is black” and “my character is gay”. They were trying to tick every representation check box and it’s obvious and annoying. And this is coming from a black guy. Do yourself a favor and Don’t watch this movie
