I thoroughly enjoyed this book in so many ways it's hard to describe. Sally Brady's Italian Adventure kept me entertained in every chapter right up to the end. I don't want to give too much away to interested readers, but I loved the way the author captured the depth and complexity of people and society. Every character had an interesting depth and story arc that folded seamlessly into the larger commentary the book had on a world at war and the humanity and inhumanity that accompanied this period. For me, this book was simultaneously a fun read filled with adventure and great characters, as well as a book with depth and historical lessons to be learned that apply to current events.
