I had never read the book but recently my son did for a class assignment in school. When I saw the movie on a streaming service I really enjoyed it. George Orwell wrote the story as an allegory of The Russian Revolution which eventually brought Stalin to power. How/why does a whole nation of people give over their freedom to a cruel tyrant? It's a very imaginative and entertaining story with a very important warning in it, especially in the times we live in when so many are willing to give up their freedom to say what's on their mind or reap the rewards of their own labor. All for the promise of the government taking care of them from cradle to grave. What really happens is that tyrants/ruling class lord it over the people and take away individual freedom and rights demonizing what is good and exalting what is evil. The movie really does a great job of depicting the animals on a farm revolting against the bad farmer only to allow a leader to rise up among them who little by little enslaves them and uses them to support his hunger for power, luxury and carnality. Wish I had read the book when I was younger
