I knew relatively little about Napoleon going into this wildly advertised and heralded flick, and guess what! I still know relatively little about Napoleon. NO character development, no background on France, its historical development, who and where Napoleon and Josephine came from and got to be who they are. They did not provide adequate explanations and development regarding the wars he was fighting, why there was conflict, etc. we see a government coup with little to no context. It’s been awhile since I have seen this big of a FLOP! Watch it on TV 3 months from now, because it won’t be in the theatre long.
