I loved this movie, I was into it every second, glued to the screen. The actors were fantastic. Yes the family sounded stilted and stiff, but that was clearly intentional, to play up how highly they thought of themselves. Barry keoghan gave a stellar performance. The ending was absolutely unsatisfying, but once again clearly intentionally so. One of the few movies I've watched in the last 10 years that I fully remember when brought up, so that says a lot.

I love Joaquin phoenix and lady gaga and I still thought this was ridiculous. I don't love musicals, but this was NOT a well done musical. Like I was hoping that all the reviews were wrong but sheeshs this is nonsense. It was a struggle to stay awake for myself and my husband, both of us hoping we were more worldly and prepared for an "arty" movie. It wasn't. Super boring, no action. Without spoiling anything, more of a setup for a 3rd movie although it would be hard to move into that
