Too much violence. Same boring story line that is predictable. Whole movie is in dark. Can feel the set, not natural at all. Have seen prakash Raj, Dhanush multiple times in same roles. Not worth a theatre watch. After all the hues and cries of violence in the state, here is one more film promoting the same. Incidentally again north madras. I think Dhanush wanted either vadachennai 2 or some movie from vetrimaran as his 50th. As vetri was busy Dhanush has tried himself with help of his brother. Not worth the hype. I trusted Dhanush and booked tickets hoping something fresh like power pandi. As a neutral movie goer, it can be skipped. But for Dhanush fans, it might work.

The film is really well made. True to the book. Maniratnam could have chosen to make it in multiple different forms and ways but he has made justice to Kalki. With pressure of Bahubali, his credibility at stake, pressure of not letting down tamil audience and the huge star cast,he has done a beautiful job.The movie is class. Hats off to his vision on this movie. I actually felt it was his way of saying, Naan tamilan da. he has not thought of pan India and all that noise. He is a man with some steel balls!!! And not to say ARR's background score. While the songs are not appealing yet, the bgm is his best! Please don't miss the theatre experience and take your parents. it's worth it

Pure theatre magic. it is a star studded treat and an excellent screenplay. do watch in theatres. Hats off to Lokesh, Anirudh and anbariv for the kind of effort. while i read most critics say that it is an old story, high violence, predictable etc i thought it is going to be an average movie that is hyped but geez this is special
