Dialogue consists of mainly long winded monologues explaining word for word everything the characters are feeling and thinking at any given moment. Lessons and themes that are meant to be implicit are explicitly stated by the characters multiple times. The acting can be very stilted and emotionless, especially Aang and Katara. I dont recall Katara experiencing a single identifiable emotion in the entire show.

Stop teaching kids to fear the world. They will have the rest of their lives for that.

Just because you can, doesnt mean you should. The first five minutes were fine, but as soon as the multiversal dimension hopping is introduced the down to earth subtly flips on its head and the original message of the effects of generational trauma is completely lost. The system behind the dimension hopping is completely nonsensical and at times it's as if the movie is attempting to make itself as difficult as possible to sit through. Several scenes throughout the movie are incredibly and unnecessarily vulgar. It does not come across as comedic either, just very uncomfortable and a bit cringey. These scenes add nothing to the plot and does nothing to express the movies supposed underlying message, subtly or otherwise. In the end I gave up trying to see through the pseudo intellectualism and stopped the film in the last quarter of the movie. I had high expectations and really wanted to enjoy this movie, but it was an impossible task.

It's like the writers were having a competition to see who could make the most unlikable character. All the changes to the characters are completely unnecessary. Give me back edgy raphael and level-headed leo. Donnie has no empathy or sense of humor whatsoever in this adaptation, which sucks because I always loved how he would be play mediator for raph and leo as well as his goofy interactions with mikey.

I tried. I really, truly tried to give this show a chance to improve, but after just having finished the finale I am angry I ever decided to waste my time with it at all. The finale was by far the worst thing marvel has ever produced, hands down. None of the plots they spent all season building up went anywhere at all, and by the end I was left feeling like I had just watched someone's embarrassing middle school self-insert fanfic adapted to television. I loved the she-hulk comics, so watching marvel take someone strong and aloof and turn them into an utterly shallow narcissist who sleeps with anyone that gives her any kind of positive attention has been hugely disappointing to say the least. On top of that, the virtue signaling was unbearable at times and would sometimes completely take you out of the story, and I am saying this as a woman. If the very people you are trying to speak for dont like what you have to say, who exactly are you speaking for? I've never been religious, but I hope to god this isnt canon.

Disappointed but not at all surprised. It was exactly how the trailer made it look; a shallow take on the ever recycled "coming of age" theme, and a not-so-subtle rehash of the 1985 film Teen Wolf. This film tries so hard to be empowering it manages to come across as misogynistic. The main characters, who are adolescent girls, are so haphazardly sex-driven it feels more like watching an adult comedy about women in their college years then about 13 year old girls grappling with the confusing transition from child to teen. The dialogue grossly undermines the maturity of its audience by constantly, almost exclusively, talking in textspeak. This movie will have you cringing all the way through, and to say watching this film was like chewing glass is a gargantuan understatement. This will be one of the longest hour and 40 minutes of your life and I can almost guarentee you will thoroughly regret sitting through the whole movie. It is no wonder why this movie went straight to Disney Plus; Pixar should be embarrassed to have this movie sitting on their roster with the likes of Up and Luca.
