This movie attempts to be empowering to victims of physical and sexual abuse, and fails at every possible level. Instead of demonstrating any form of healing from trauma, it just devolves into straight torture porn in a faux-holier-than-thou revenge fantasy. It's fine to commit profane acts of violence as long as you don't do it first, right? Loved the part when one SA victim tricked the other SA victim into chopping off her hand and the movie tried really hard to explain how it was a good thing, and how that was supposed to help her.
That's not even mentioning how long the movie takes to actually get to the point. Until the last quarter of the movie the audience is left to guessing at what the whole purpose of the film is.
Genuinely one of the biggest face-palm movies I've seen, start to finish.
