I’m still traumatised by this book.How can you not be ! It is without doubt the saddest book I have ever read !There wasn’t a “happy ever after “, ending either to give me something to reflect on. However , it was so beautifully written.Such a stunning use of words. I was hooked within minutes and I could not wait to continue the journey of Jude’s life .Couldn’t sleep after reading the heinous ,cruelty and evils that the poor boy endured . Was thrilled that Willem loved him . The damaged Jude , that could not be healed , even when loved .I desperately wanted life to give him any contentment,for him to be painfree . Furious that he did so little to help himself when so many begged him to . A truly unforgettable book . Not to be read by the faint hearted.
