I liked the premise of the book, but it felt like I was reading the Cliff Notes rather than an actual novel. The book's heroine was credited with guiding three successful escapees from the Stalag Luft III POW camp, when we all know that two of them caught a Scandanavian steamer, and one crossed the Pryenees by foot into Spain. That was more license than I was willing to issue.
