I met Sensei Robert Trias in a New Mexico in 1973 at a Karate Tournament he sponsored. He founded the first karate dojo at Andersen AFB, Guam. Three of his students were John Taitano, Bob Enay, and Frank Lizama; all eventually were promoted to Black Belt. Enay and Lizama opened the Guam Karate Dojo in Tamuning, Guam. I started my training at this dojo in 1965 and was promoted to Shodan in 1969. Senseis Enay died in 2013 and buried in Melelani, Honolulu, HI. Sensei Lizama died in 2021 and buried at the Guam VA Cemetery.
