Well wow. How to waste such beautiful casting.
Honestly, I was enjoying the first half. I know not many people love musical numbers, but as a musical fan, I didn't mind them (even tho I will say that there were more than it was necessary).
I loved the reinterpretation of Harley Quinn's story. At the beginning, as a comic fan, I was confused on why she wasn't a doctor there, but I soon loved the interpretation of her character. It still shows the core aspect of Harley falling in love with the way Joker's brain functions, fundamental part of Harley Quinn's arc.
All was okay, till the scene in which Arthur drops his lawyer. From then on, the rollercoaster this movie got us on drops dramatically fast.
First and foremost, as Joker, he does absolutely nothing. After he is assaulted in the prison, he is clearly affected (makes sense), but somehow Harley, who had just declared to understand him better than anyone else, can't see that something major must have happened for him to change his mind so rapidly.
You expect the bomb to be orchestrated by Harley as last hope of her not giving up on him. Instead, she had nothing to do with it and just drops his ass.
Mah, it's like the writers got to the part of Joker testifying for himself and didn't know how to wrap up the message and the story. Understandable, I also couldn't understand where it was going when I saw it happen.
Just change idea instead of keeping a bad one or one you can't solve.
