I felt totally unmoved by this film. It was artistic but very dull. There was no empathic connection between the characters or audience The dialogue was stilted and the pace very slow. All the dramatic elements that make a good film were conspicuously missing.. This film is really just a series of artistic scenes featuring two beautiful characters, period costumes and homes set in idyllic English countryside. I didn’t really get the point of Glenda Jackson’s character and the racehorse’s roles.
