Really enjoyable.... Heavy questions asked but through an array of characters that I found myself rooting for and genuinely interested in. I didn't think I would relate to the book initially because of its focus on the experiences of black women, trans issues and sexuality but I'm so glad I stepped out of my usual genres to read this. I read the book mostly with a grin on my face (although there are many sobering moments) and I think the grin is because all of the women are survivors and fiesty in some way. I related to them as a woman... And that created an overwhelming sense of personal centredness and social togetherness that I can't quite explain fully. Open your mind, settle in for the ride and read it... You will be glad you did. But be ready, as it might challenge your own perceptions, assumptions and judgements... It did mine... And I'm glad x
