The bane of many, including hardcore souls fans but especially the casual gamer, Sekiro will push the boundaries of your patience and willpower. My personal advice, if you're used to "the best offense is defense" & "roll away and wait for your moment to strike" way of playing that souls veterans have adopted, do away with it from the start. It will not serve you. This game forces you to interface with the deflect and posture mechanics; To stand in the face of your enemy and do the dance of swords. You have your katana and your shinobi skillset and that's it. No farming to become ridiculously over leveled and breeze through the game, you can only upgrade your strength after defeating certain bosses along the way. As much as this game pinholes you into a certain way of playing, each fight requires a different playstyle and approach to successfully pull off. Sekiro rewards attention to detail and concise reaction time, and the feeling of euphoria when the combat system finally clicks & you beat a boss you've been stuck on for hours is unparalleled. The world is beautiful. Somber at times like Hirata Estate but gorgeous in others such as Fountainhead Palace. Every part of this game feels polished. All FromSoftware does is create masterpieces, and this one is no different.
If you are the type to crave a challenge, Sekiro is a must play.
10/10 across the board.
