This movie was more than I expected. Tiana Taylor is a talented actress. The story was a story that needed to be told. The system is broken and unable to keep up with the demand of help both professionally, emotionally, and financially. Terry was a boy who no one saw until Inez saw herself in him. Although what she did was “illegal” she cared and raised Terry to become an exceptional and capable young man. Isn’t that what we want when people volunteer themselves to do service, care about the community and actually partake in the term “it takes a village”. The story is more that just broken people meeting up and living this thing called life, but making due and wanted to change the patterns they experience. I like the hidden notes in the background you hear words from Guilliani and Bloomberg. Many would agree with all the politics stuff still hasn’t changed. This also had me nostalgic of my childhood growing up in queens, the accents, the fashion/style, the way we walk and talk. New Yorkr’s are hustlers, survivors and trendsetters. Lots to see and experience with this movie. Job well done
