This movie is enjoyable and tells a story that few people know and that has back story that few people know...The costumes, music, settings - in the steppe and in Paris are good to hear and see....and despite the glitzy life in Paris in the 20's which is fun to see with its real cast of characters-the brutality of the totalitarianism that was "encouraging" ethnic expression is certainly acknowledged.
