This show is my favorite among "the big crime shows." They have really cut back on the noise clutter. It's especially appreciated when I'm listening to an episode as a podcast. The newish "Talking Dateline" is GREAT! It is 2 of the correspondents talking about an episode that one of them just did. It's just their two voices! No plinking piano, no chimes, no repeating xylophone notes! You get to listen to just those two visiting about the episode, including inside info. Love it!!

Does anyone else hate the high-pitched plucking of a violin or the obnoxious plinking piano? It's constantly playing while you are trying to listen to what the narrator or buyers are saying. I love the show, but sometimes I just fast forward or turn it off. Sound people need to realize that for many people, this is equal to showing 2 scenes at once blurred together on a screen. No one would think of doing that for any length of time.

I used to look forward to a new episode every week. Now, I can't watch it. They have music or noises playing through the whole show, even when a detective or family member is talking. I know this is the trend now and I hate it! It's like these shows have an intern in charge of sound, and they are going to use all the music or sound effects they can, just because they can. They wouldn't think of having the video part layered with another, like a double exposure. But it's great to try to listen to words while a plinking piano is on at the same time?? It's sad that people work so hard to put together a good show like Snapped. Then one person's idea of what's good in the sound dept. can make it unwatchable for a lot of us.
