I thought the characters were very realistic and well thought out. However, the plot(s) were unlikely or weak.
Also I found it difficult to place the book in time. The daughters story suggests 2012 - 2015, but Dickie's story suggests much earlier, as does Imelda's.
Overall I was very disappointed
