This movie was just awful. The acting was bad, the directing was sitcom level. Not one moment felt even marginally believable. I understand movies can be escapism, but take me somewhere I want to escape too. It had so many clichés and enough plot holes to make a documentary on what not to do when writing a screenplay. Jennifer Lopez, who I really enjoyed in Out of Sight, is sorely miscast. She is too old for this role, period. The conversation about starting a family, and she says it just isn't the right time. Is she waiting for Medicare to pay for it? And the daughter story line is beyond absurd. There is a moment where her and her friends sing and dance in the kitchen which seems like it belongs in a completely different movie. There is no chemistry between her and her boyfriend, or her and her friends, or her and her daughter, etc. It seems as though the Full House writers decided they could write a romantic comedy. Sounds awful right? I like the premise that a girl without an education can be just as a beneficial to a company, if not more so, than someone who went to a fancy school but doesn't know the first thing about life. In the hands of a screenwriter with even an iota of talent, this could have been a good film with a positive message. Instead it is a hole in the head waste of two hours. This is a low point in JLo's career, and she was in Gigli, Anaconda, and Monster in Law. One of the worst movies of the year so far.
