Well- written, suspenseful and tragic. Though there's controvery regarding whether a caucasian woman has the right to tell the story of a Mexican who migrates illegally to the USA to avoid cartel violence, I thought the author showed a lot of humanity in the nuances of this harrowing journey. She put a face and backstory on a migration movement that begs the reader, no matter how anti-immigration their opinions, to ask themselves "what would you do, what would you be willing to endure to survive and escape?".
