2009 is calling for its deeply sexist joke back. I haven't even seen the show, but the annoying kid's behaviour on the n*tflix preview turned me off too. anyways, here's thug story: I'm like 8 foot 4, blond hair to the floor you shorties never thought I dreamed about rapping hardcore no I ain't got a gun no I never really been in a club still live with my parents but I'm still a thug I'm so gangsta you can find me baking cookies at night you out clubbing, but I just made caramel delight t swift and t pain rappin on the same track it's a thug story tell me can you handle that I had a dream last night I had high-top NIkes I had diamonds in my mouth, and diamonds on my mic by the time I woke I was singing "I'M ON A BOOOOAAT" cuz I'm a singer turned rapper shorty I'm a make ya straight to the top, yo shorty I'ma take ya you can call me T Sweezy now I'm a rap star hey it's a thug story now tell them who you are singer turned gangsta you don't wanna fight me straight to the top in my extra small white tee t swift and t pain all up on the same track it's a thug story tell now can you get with that what! what! I knit sweaters yo! what! what! don't test me [bleep] hey hold on, hold on I didn't even say anything WHAT? I said "yo" YUP you guys bleeped me and I didn't even say anything I didn't even swear SHE DIDN"T EVEN SWEAR hello? Ugh

Cuban history aside, musical aside - the movie was mediocre. Let me just say that the art was AMAZING. Vivo's movement, the snake, small kid - perfecto. I also absolutely loved the 2D animation. But the storyline was somehow quite shallow. Honestly, I didn't enjoy the beginning of the movie. The first song was dragged out so long, I felt like stopping the movie. Instead of spending so much time showing Vivo singing Lelolalillaaleee, I wish they would've further shown how his relationship with the old man was. i just didn't get why Vivo loved the old man so much, or why he was so hesitant to leave home. I also found the small kid EXTREMELY obnoxious (no offence to the actor - she was perfect). I dunno, just really annoying. I also didn't get the bond between her and Vivo. And after so much trouble, I was expecting Martha's reaction to be a little bit more...well, you know, surprised and awed. Idk it felt like she didn't care that much. I think the movie is lacking depth. It's not something I'd recommend to anyone, nor expect to play in cinemas. For the music - nothing stuck in my head except that obnoxious song. What was it, a wow in a world full of ho hums?!?! Like, no song had any impact. Nothing stayed expect the most annoying one.

The moment I saw the animation thumbnail I could tell the show's gonna be good. The simplistic art style is so different from your typical giant-head-small-body kid's animation. I absolutely love it! I understand that this show is based of the game from 1983, so kuddos for developing Carmen's character, modernising the story here and there and most importantly, educating children in a fun way. The plot is good, however like many have said gets a bit predictable, but I see they changed that in Season 3 and 4. I also love the humour put into the show, haha. Seriously, this generation is lucky to have this show around. All I got was about some fish who grew legs >:( .I know the series has ended, but I'd love if they continue with other CS related programmes and stuff, ykwim? Also, this show is the reason I started to understand the world map and appreciate history as well as cultures from other countries. And that's coming from a 16 year old - imagine the impact this will have on younger kids. Okay, okay, DEAR ONE STAR RATERS: There's a reason this show is rated 7+. Yes, yes, I know, I was shocked too with the whole 'steal for good' concept, and it can be confusing for younger kids, so don't let your four year old watch it. This show did do a risky thing by introducing the whole thievery concept, but just try to understand what's actually going on - read more reviews below and you'll get what I mean, So get that settled with the kids first. And why in the world would anybody hate the animation?!! Ugh. Regarding monotony - compared to Spongebob or The Amazing World Of Gumball, yes, this series is rather 'slow'. But on its own - the pace is perfect, really. Typical kid's show aim to grab kids' attention until the series ends. It also aims to mainly entertain, not educate. CS educates and entertains, but is not constantly demanding your kid's attention. And that's a good thing, no? To enjoy the series, you need to pay attention to the screen *and* dialogue. That's why older kids will find it more entertaining. BUT I gotta warn ya - don't listen to the theme song in the interactive bonus scene unless you want it re-playing in your head everyday for the next few years😂 (yep, it happened to me - it's been a year now)
