Started watching Shardlake and already in the first few mins saw a woman with an Amazon parrot getting it to talk for pennies from the crowd. Amazing as this is the 16th century and they weren’t discovered till 1830. Then it gets better…one of the characters quotes Tennyson. If these screenwriters are going to do historical dramas the least they can do get some basic facts right. Other than that it’s been done before….better… Name of the Rose…..Cadfael.

Everything the original failed to achieve.

This movie had so much potential but it was like one of the Disney tv series my grandkids watch. Despite the efforts of the cast you come away feeling like you wasted two hours of your life watching something that failed in any way to engage you in the story.
