This game isn't awful, but its definitely not my favorite.
Pros:
- It's very open world.
- The locations are distinct, unique, and have interesting characters.
- There are loads of side quests and shrine quests.
- Inventory is huge, you can have a variety of weapons, own a house, and catch wild horses.
Cons:
- Cooking is something you need to near constantly do, and gathering ingredients.
- You only have so much stamina so you will fall or drown. This gets very frustrating, but I suppose that's a challenge for some. For me it's super boring to spend thirty seconds to ALMOST make it to the top of a cliff just to fall and have to do it again, but its similar to life I guess.
- there are quirks like you can't wear metal in the rain or you'll get electrocuted and you need special clothing to go in the snow.
- the worst part is once you complete the main quest, you can't go back and complete all the side quests. You can't have the credits roll and continue even if you still have multiple quests open.
- the quests sometimes are not very straightforward because they point to locations but can be very broad. I have spent hours searching for a location of something just to end up looking it up on the zelda wiki and realize I'm looking in a complete different area.
Overall I love the story of zelda and I like the games, I usually love the puzzles in the shrines and the quests. But this game felt like too much wasted time, especially with the ending and inability to continue after.
